About Well Doc Projects
$5K, 6 months (Apr 1 and Oct 1 starts), project must directly address results of the group’s Well Doc Survey results. General and department-specific results are available from info@southislandmsa.ca.
As an outcome of a Department or Division meeting, groups will develop a proposal to address their group’s specific challenge. $5,000 is available for each project, with clear guidelines for what is in and out of scope (i.e. FE Funding guidelines must be followed; not for purely social events, personal wellbeing, capital expenses, recognition; not for activities that are the responsibility of the HA or required by physician groups to maintain privileges).

What could it look like?
- Because projects must address a specific result of the group’s Well Doc Survey results, the variety of possible projects is broad. Groups will be supported by an MSA Administrator to develop an appropriate project application and plan.
How does it work?
- Vetted by MSA Administrators. Approved by Physician Wellness and Social Committee.
- Proposal Evaluation Framework:
- Impact – Will this project influence positive change for the medical staff’s work environment or patient care?
- Physician Support – Will this project include a broad spectrum of physicians?
- Suitability – Is Culture Change Project funding the appropriate funding source for this activity?
- Health Authority Inclusion – does this project include connecting with the HA?
- Accountability – Would the MSA be able to publicly defend the project as an appropriate use of public funding?
- Sustainability – Is the project able to stand on its own without continued funding?
- Feasibility – Is the project feasible based on budget, timeline, expected outcomes, and deliverables?
- Urgency – Based on the survey results, what is the prevalence of burnout? This will help prioritize requests.
- Overall Assessment – Red light, Yellow light, Green light
- Supports available – MSA Administrator will help the group develop an appropriate project application and plan.
- Post-project evaluation – sent by MSA administrators at 100% time or budget. Required for final claims approval.
