2021 South Island MSA Award for Communications Leadership

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be recognizing those who received South Island MSA Recognition Awards at this year’s Annual General Meeting.

Our next award is for Communications Leadership, someone who has facilitated effective communication between the medical staff, administration, and the Board of Directors of Island Health.  The Executive is delighted to recognize Alanna Black.

As Vancouver Island’s Regional Advisor and Advocate with Doctors of BC, there are many dimensions to Alanna’s work.  One of the most significant is providing support to physicians, an important, impactful and often challenging role that requires skill in navigating every level of medical administration.

As shared by one physician, “Alanna is confident, kind and supportive…an absolute professional with an eye for strategy that I have seldom encountered.”  She is also credited as being someone who gives physicians hope when they run into difficult times.  Her tenacity and dedication, going above and beyond her role to provide thoughtful and professional support to Island physicians is renowned.

Please join me in recognizing Alanna Black with this Award for Communications Leadership.
