Gold Star Awards – Catching up on the good wishes

More Gold Stars, you ask?  Yes indeed!

Dr. Alex Hoechsmann provided a thoughtful nomination for Dr. Grant McIntyre:
“Thank you to Dr. Grant McIntyre (ICU) for coming down to the ER after midnight to help put a central line in a hypovolemic patient with severe acute renal failure. Dr. McIntyre was courteous and collaborative. By working together and supporting each other as physicians we can make the work of health care more collegial and hence more rewarding.”
Special thanks were sent by Dr. Chris Harper for Dr. Lesley Silver:
” I wanted to shout out Dr. Lesley Silver who stayed quite late on a Friday evening to support challenging sedation for one of the admitted pediatric patients with autism. Her kindness was instrumental in allowing for proper assessment and management of this patient, and she really went the extra mile to support the family. The pediatric team is so appreciative of Dr. Silver’s support!”
Dr. Rebecca Morley is hoping that we’ll upgrade to Platinum Stars to support her recognition and appreciation for Cheryl Burke, who used to work in Emerg and who now works in Clinic 3:
“On a daily basis, I see her go above and beyond for the patients and her colleagues. Some examples:
1. She often will makes schedules for learners so that they have a better orientation to the clinics.
2. She will go out of her way for patients who are lost in the hospital system whether that is by phone or in person.
3. She handles huge numbers of patients interactions calmly and competently and teaches this to those that she mentors.”
