1. Is there a rule (law or policy) that tells me what to do? Follow it.
2. Can I do something to defer making a decision right now? Do that.
3. There isn’t a rule and I need to make a decision now. Ask yourself 3 questions about the action you are considering:
a) Is that what one of my colleagues would do?
b) Knowing what I do, is this what I would want for myself or my family member?
c) Would I be comfortable having my name and this action shared on the news?
If the answer to all three questions is yes, you are likely making an ethical decision.
