The Pathways messaging feature allows family physicians to send you a quick text message asking you to call or text them back – without requiring an app or giving them your phone number. And patient demographics for billing can be accessed from the Pathways link within the message.
Save time by responding to a quick question via text – no need to answer a phone call or fax
Cut down on faxes, missed calls, and voicemails
Reduce delays in patient care from unnecessary referrals – just answer the clinical question via text
Help your patients get their questions answered and treatments adjusted quickly – at a time that works for you.
Activating the feature takes just a few minutes. Click HERE to view the video instructions or open the attached instruction document. If you wish to set the hours you are available to be contacted, reach out to the Pathways Administrator for quick and easy assistance at rt-help@pathwaysbc.ca.
Please note, physicians who send a message to you via the Pathways messaging feature, only see your Pathways profile information, not the mobile number you set up to use for receiving messages. However, if you choose to respond by phone or text, your phone number will be visible. If you wish to reply without sharing your phone number, you must reply within Pathways itself.
Join your colleagues in improving the health system with better specialist-family physician communication!
If you need assistance or have questions about setting the feature up, the Pathways team is happy to help and can be reached via email at rt-help@pathwaysbc.ca.
