Success Story: South Island MSA Award for Innovation Leadership

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be recognizing those who received South Island MSA Recognition Awards at this year’s Annual General Meeting.  Join us in celebrating them!

Dr. Mike Berger put forward a warm nomination for Dr. Paul Winston.

As shared by Dr. Berger, “Dr. Winston has transformed the neurorehabilitation program at Victoria General Hospital into a flagship clinical program at Island Health. His novel, interdisciplinary approach to managing spasticity in upper motor neuron disorders (e.g. stroke, spinal cord injury) draws trainees and other experts in the field, from all over the world. Dr. Winston’s clinical model is now being replicated internationally.”

For this work, Dr. Winston was recently awarded Island Health’s Evidence into Practice Silver Award, for which we additionally congratulate him.

We can only echo Dr. Berger’s thoughts that Dr. Winston is, “a well-deserving candidate of this award.”  Please join us in congratulating Dr. Paul Winston on his South Island MSA Award for Innovation Leadership.
